Oregonians meet with members of Congress at annual humanities meeting

At this year’s annual Humanities on the Hill in Washington, D.C., held on March 2 and 3, 2009, board and staff members of the Oregon Council for the Humanities (OCH) will meet with Senators and members of Congress to lobby support for increases in funding to the National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH), of which OCH is an independent, nonprofit affiliate.

Oregon Chautauqua reshaped to promote public conversations

Oregon Council for the Humanities seeks proposals for its new interactive, facilitated conversation program.
Oregon Chautauqua, a popular speakers bureau of the Oregon Council for the Humanities (OCH) that has reached statewide audiences for twenty-eight years, has been transformed into The Conversation Project: A New Chautauqua, which connects Oregonians with public scholars and provocative ideas through idea-driven dialogue.
OCH invites scholars who live or work in Oregon to submit proposals for the 2009-10 Conversation Project. The Request for Proposals may be downloaded at http://www.oregonhum.org or requested by e-mail from Program Director Jennifer Allen at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address)
