COVID-19 Relief CARES Act Grants (2020)

Oregon Humanities was one of fifty-six state and jurisdictional humanities councils to receive emergency relief funds through the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, distributed by the National Endowment for the Humanities

A responsive review panel composed of staff and Oregon Humanities board members granted $460,500 for general operating and programmatic support to sixty-three organizations throughout the state in late May. We received 235 applications for the three tiers of granting with awards of $5,000, $7,500, and $10,000. The sixty-three final grantees represent organizations ranging from local historical societies to culturally-specific leadership-building organizations, located from Vale to Klamath Falls to Astoria.

Applicants were notified about the status of their application no later than June 1, 2020.
